Base was a 1992 Dodge Viper R/T 10 No. 98 of only 285 produced in 1st year ! The "Rent A Car Team" privately entered the Viper to the Le Mans Race of 1994. This car was the first Viper running at the 24 hours of "Le Mans" and finished 3rd place in GT1 !!! Drivers : Rene Arnoux (seven times formula 1 winner), Justin Bell (son of multiple Le Mans-winner Derek Bell) and Bertrand Balas. In 1996 the car run the "24h of Daytona" at the same time with the first two factory built Viper GTS-R ! Different companies ("Luigi Racing" Belgium / "Meca Systeme" Le Mans / "Multiplast" Vannes) have prepared and modified the car as a GT1-Racer. Engine with 650HP, dry sump system, Hewland 5-speed race-transmission, modified rear axle, modified chassis, custom built new suspensions all around, race-brakes with 6 pistons, air jacks,18" BBS magnesium, custom body in carbon including new doors (only 4kg) and custom hardtop / hood and front facia. All parts have been custom built / fabricated. The team has invested about 600'000 US$ in building this car to run at the Le Mans Race. The car is fully documented including the official Le Mans press-map of the car (40 pages in color), all press-pictures and all race-records (test / qualifying and race). This car is well known and can be seen in different Le Mans and Viper-books. The "Rent a Car" Viper was the beginning of a very successful history of Viper-Racing.
